Gunnar went to Warren, Pensylvania for collage and became an Engineer. He then married Anni and wanted the family to move to America but Anni did not want to leave Finland. Information about decendants of Gunnar and Anni Eklund is submitted by Ms Birgitta Lundmark whose grandmother, (mother’s mother) Martha Eklund was a sister to Gunnar Eklund. Martha´s sister Astrid Eklund conducted an ancestry research 1947 from which the information is taken. Ms Lundmark has also been a great help in translating nearily all the text written into German and to correct the author’s English. Information has also been given in 2002 by Gunnar’s granddaughter Doris. |

Social security number in USA 562367087. In USA Gunvor worked as minister in a Swedish Methodist Church in Warren Pennsylvania for one year. She then went back to Finland and after a year she emigrated to Canada in the company of her best friend Eva. Eva's sister Hjördis married Gunvor's brother Carl Håkan. After the birth of her three children Gunvor and Soren moved from San Fransisco to Oakdale California for Gunvor's health. The climate was very dry and thus good for her asthma. |

As a younger person while at their summer home, Carl had the uncanny ability to recognize the boats by the sound of their engines before they came into sight. He was killed in an accident at work when he was going to chewck on the engine and it exploded. |
