This boys father’s and mother’s names are not mentioned at the christening and he does not have a surname. The godparents at the christening are however mentioned and they are Vicehäradshövding Immanuel Aulén and his wife Elisabeth Palm born 1765 in Jomala Åland/Ahvenanmaa and died 2 May 1797 in Turku/Åbo Swedish community. AC Federley’s brother, Johan Gustav Federley and his wife Catharina Eleonora Halling had been godparents for the Aulén couple’s children so it is obviously Kyrkoherde/Kirkkoherra Johan Gustav Federley who christened this Anton Christoffer boy and left all essential information out of the books with the intention to cover the information of the father and the mother of this boy. It seems he lived in Turku qurtaer 60. and 61 as fosterchild to seaman Tallberg’s widow Ekman. He is mentioned as the fosterson Anton Christofferson of Johanna Jacobi Bäckelin and Eric Simgren in Jomala comunionbook 1800 - 1805 page 81, Joppe. The sign OÄ = illegitemate has been left out. Johanna Beckelin worked as a maid at acessor Palm, father to Ac Simgren’s godmother Elisabeth Palm. The boy appears next time in the Jomala communionbook 1806 -1813 in Joppe at page 84 as foster child, named Anton Christoffersson to the family Eric Simgren b. 1745 - d. 1804, Handlande/Kauppias from Borås Sverige and his wife Johanna Jacobsdotter Beckelin b.1766 d. 24.4.1809 probably also from Sweden. They married in Frebbenby Hammarland 10.5.1801. Thus Anton Christofferson gets the surname Simgren. Eric had 2 daughters Helena Maria “Maja Lena” and Lovisa and a son John Eric with Gustava Charlotta Selander b. 24 Jan 1746 and d. 31 Mar 1799 in Frebbenby Hammarland Jomala, before Eric Simgren married Johanna Beckelin. The son John Erik hade died 13 Oct 1797. When Eric dies 9.5.1804 his 2 daughters are mentioned in the Estate Inventory/Bouppteckning/Perunkirja which was held 18 and 19.5.1804 written on page 273, Ålands Domsaga, Bouppteckningar 1804, Ålands Landsskpasarkiv, but Anton Christofer Simgren is not mentioned because he had no right to inherit Eric Simgren since Eric Simgren was not Anton Chistoffers’s father. Anton Christoffer Simgren was 14 years when both of his fosterparents had died. He appears later in Turku as secretär. It is quite likely that Anton Christoffer Federley helped him to get his profession which was close to A. C. Federley’s profession? Anton Christoffer Federley (1761 - 1819) came already 1787 to Jomala Åland when he was pointed Häradskrivare/Kihlakunnankirjuri for Åland/Ahvenanmaa at an age of only 25 years. AC Federley had stayed in Jomala for 8 years when his son A. C. Simgren was born. 3 years later A. C. Federley was married in Jomala Åland on 9 Feb 1798 with Helena Elisabeth Hjorth. In Turku/Åbo books of buried is mentioned Anton Christoffer Simgren, “Secretär” born in Turku/Åbo 1795 and died possibly in Turku but burried in Lieto/Lundo 5 Jan 1829 at an age of 33 years. On 29.1.1819 he moved from Turku to Huittinen Leppäkosken kylä Nikkilä house. In June 1822 Extra Cancel: Ant. Christoffer Simgren came from Huittinen/Hvittis back to Turku to Kloster kvarteret 47 Åbo Svenska Försmaling.. (Nauha/Film JK 1125) In the books of Huittinen/Hvittis is however said that Christoffer Simgrén already in 1820 moved to Turku/Åbo. No sign of marriage for AC Simgren has been found until now.
Since AC Simgren is mentioned as fosterchild to Johanna and Eric, it is also possible that Anton Christoffer Simgren could have been the child of Charlotta Alan, who at the time of AC Simgren’s birth 1795 was 40 years old. So even if Johanna Beckelin is now positioned as the mother to AC Simgren in this family tree it is as plausible that the mother should be Charlotta Alana. Charlotta was appearantly born in Jomala and daughter to the Jomala rewerend/Kirkkoherra/kyrkoherde Alanus. Her siter was Eriana Alana married to AC Federley’s predecessor Isac Ullner. Charlotte stayed in the house after Isac U passed away and she probaly “lived together” with AC Federley?
Leena Heikelä located the boy Anton Christoffer in the christening books in Turku/Åbo and has been assisting me in this very interesting case.
