Ernst Johans wife Benigna was courtlady for Anna Joanovna. |

Peter gave up his Dukeness when the tsaress Cataharina II wanted to take over Kurland. She compensated the takeover with large gifts in cash and also in Estates. Gustav Mauritz Armfelt who was a friend of duke Peter and Dutchess Dorothea helped them to get out these commitments from the Russian crown.
Slightly after that in 1798 GMA became the lover of the Duke´s wife, Anna, the Dutches of Kurland, with whom GMA got a daughter Wilhelmina “Mina” in 1798. Mina Married Axel Federley (1798 - 1854)
In 1801 GMA got another daughter Gustava “Vava”, with the Duchess daughter, princess Cataharina von Sagan. Both Mina and Vava was adopted by GMA. |
