He took the name Koskinen. He told teh reason was that he was a great admirer of Yrjö Sakari Yrjö-Koskinen. Juho was classmate with the famous composer Jean Sibelius. Juho and Jean entered the University of Helsinki fall 1885. Juho writes in his diary: I happend to land in the Mathematical faculty and Sibelius in the law Faculty. Next term we changed faculties I took the Theolgical and Sibelius the music faculty. When professor Ernst Bondsdorff who had been our teacher in the Hämeenlinna Lyceum had visited the Helsinki University one of the teachers at the Univercity asked him: Do you have any good pupils who came to study in the Univercity? Bondsdorff answered. “Yes I hade two, one very good in Mathematics but he lost his mind (LF’s note: Juho), like another one who changed from Law to Music. (LF’s note Sibelius). They took Kirsti Heikinoja as their fosterchild. Kirsti’s biological parents were Aksel Heikinoja born Laakso and Amanda Tervaportti. Kirsti Heikinoja was later adopted by Siviä Julia Johanna Tervaportti. As adopted Kirsti’s surname became Tervaportti. |

Her surname became Laakso when she married Aksel but she took the surname Heikinoja together with her husband Aksel. She died at an age of 45 when her oldest child Sulo was 16 years and the youngest Kirst was 7 years. |
