He was one of the most remarkable architects in his time. Many of the buildings in the second biggest city in Finland, Tampere/Tammerfors´ center is drawn by him. One very beautiful log house in Jugend style is recently restored and a preciuous beauty in it´s genre. 2 years after the civil war Marshal Mannerheim came to Tampere/Tammerfors to celebrate the conquer of the city by his troups. Architect Federley held a speach and handed over e special memorial medal to the Marshal. Birger Federley was assisted by ingeneer Lavonius. Source: Book 2008: Troikka, Author: Jari Tervo Page 315. Ingeneer Lavonius: Robert Lavonius was a very remarkable man in Tampere/Tammerfors. Vuorineuvos/Bergsråd. City-Representant of the State Senate 1905-1906. Chairman of cityboard. Managing Director for both textile factories in the city. Chairman of the Commercial chamber. Source Henrika “Keta” Bargum b. Lavonius. Robert Lavonius was her grandfather’s brother. Keta is the author’s Lars Federley’s classmate. |
