Misc. Notes |
He went to St Petersburg. He worked as a banker in Turkey. Later he moved to Georgia where he is buried in the capital Tbilisi. On 6 Apr 1901 Magnus Alexander was brought by his wife Varvara (Barbara) Andrejevna Federley to the St. Panteleimon Mental Hospital where he stayed until 18 Jun 1902. His wife later disappeared and left the hospital fees for the last seven months unpaid.
In the hospital Magnus Alexander, who at the time was 41 years old, said he was 60 and colonel in retirement. He said he was employed by a Turkish company, that he had visited Afrika, Asia and lived in China, and then had returned to Russia. He claimed to have three oil wells (?) in Baku and an income of 50,000 roubles/day.
He was already ill when he had been arrested for a petty theft in the town of Derbent in Dagestan. He travelled to St. Petersburg to lodge an appeal. The court matter in Derbent was closed in April 1902 because of his illness.
The only visitor Magnus Alexander had in the clinic was his aunt Emilia Fedorovna Krasillnikova (née Federley, see 146. Catharina Emilia Elisabet Federley). She writes a letter to the hospital director and asks to be allowed to take him to Pyhäjärvi on holiday. Magnus Alexander was released from the clinic on 18 Jun 1902 and as of that date he was under the guardianship of his aunt Emilia Fedorovna Krasillnikova.
It is not known where Magnus Alexander spent the rest of his years, but according to an inventory deed he shall have died in Tbilisi Georgia on 13 May 1908.
