Family of Wiktor Federley (110) & Hedvig Helena Rosenberg

188. Emilia Sofia Federley. Born on 15 Nov 1847 in Viipuri/Wyborg. Emilia Sofia died in Helsinki/Helsingfors on 4 Oct 1921; she was 73.

She lived in Helsinki and was not married.

189. Ida Josefina Federley. Born on 2 Mar 1855 in Viipuri/Wyborg. Ida Josefina died in Överby on 8 Oct 1912; she was 57.

Ida and Viktor were third generation cousins. Their greatgrandfather was Kristoffer Federley. Ida´s grave is preserved on the old cemetary of Helsinki. Ida made a substantial contribution to the Överby gardening school which today operates in Espoo.
Ida and Viktor had no children. In her testamony she gave the follwing items to Porvoo/Borgå museum: A golden watch given by the Swedish king Gustav III to Kristoffer Federley, a golden watch chain 2 golden rings and an iron. They can all be seen in the museum.

On 15 Aug 1877 when Ida Josefina was 22, she married Viktor Napoleon Federley, son of Karl Benjamin Federley & Edla Sofia Hornborg, in Savonlinna/Nyslott. Born on 18 Oct 1840 in Harju Lielahti/Lielax. Viktor Napoleon died in Helsinki/Helsingfors on 25 Jan 1904; he was 63. Occupation: Fil. Mais. Opettajaharjoittelija/Fil. Mag. Lärarekandidat Svenska Normla lyceet.

Viktor and Ida were third generation cousins. Their greatgrandfather was Kristoffer Federley. Viktor went with his brother Knut Alfred to the land of Amur in Eastern Siberia in Russia together with 26 men who established a cooperative there. Most of them returned to Finland where they became succesful businessmen.Alfred however drowned in the amur riwer. About this fantastic story you can read in the book “Det förlovade Amurlandet” written by Erik Appel (ISBN 951-50-0916-2). Frans Lindeberg also belonged to the group. His daughter Anna Gunilla Lindeberg married Oiva Josef Koskinen who was the great grandson of Ulrika Karolina Federley.
