In USA Gunvor worked as minister in a Swedish Methodist Church in Warren Pennsylvania for one year. She then went back to Finland and after a year she emigrated to Canada in the company of her best friend Eva. Eva's sister Hjördis married Gunvor's brother Carl Håkan.
After the birth of her three children Gunvor and Soren moved from San Fransisco to Oakdale California for Gunvor's health. The climate was very dry and thus good for her asthma.
On 4 Aug 1928 when Gunvor Maria was 26, she married Soren Slosted in Vancouver Canada. Born on 7 Apr 1900 in Vikersund Norway. Soren died in Santa Barbara, California USA, on 27 Mar 1981; he was 80.
His name was originally Søren Slaastad . He changed his name to Soren Slosted. Søren came from Norway. In Norway live today many families with the name Slaastad or Slåstad which is a newer version. After Gunvor’s death Soren remarried and lived at the time of his death in Carpinteria.

557. Carl Håkan Eklund. Born on 24 Mar 1908. Carl Håkan died on 9 Apr 1942; he was 34.
As a younger person while at their summer home, Carl had the uncanny ability to recognize the boats by the sound of their engines before they came into sight. He was killed in an accident at work when he was going to chewck on the engine and it exploded.
On 10 Oct 1937 when Carl Håkan was 29, he married Hjördis Wilhelma Sjöblom. Born on 11 Nov 1904 in Kristiinankaupunki/Kristinestad. Hjördis Wilhelma died in Kristiinankaupunki/Kristinestad on 18 Dec 1994; she was 90.
Hjördis and Carl Håkan had no children,
