859. Carl-Eric Ehrström. Born on 31 Oct 1920 in Helsinki/Helsingfors. Carl-Eric died in Kauniainen/Grankulla on 28 May 2015; he was 94. Education: Fil Dr.

In 1951 Carl-Eric took one year off and went with his friend Fabbe Wahlberg to the Faroe Islands. They just turned a globe and the finger hit the islands. They arrived to Klaksvík and went to the community office and met the secretary Thomas, father of Magna Thomassen. There were noaccomodation available in Klaksvík but Thomas offered them to live in his house. They got bed and breakfest by working for Thomas’ family. Thomas’ house was new and they could have one room each. Thomas had good connection with clergymen and officials so they could easily travel arround the islands by their boat. Carl-Eric and Fabbe took some pictures and made som drawings and made some notes about the islands. After one year Carl-Eric left but Fabbe stayed for a few more months. Fabbe has been in contact with Thomas’ family and even visit them afterwards. The people on the islands admire Carl-Eric being a very good skirunner and he was called “den Finske skilöber”. On 17 Aug 1961 when Carl-Eric was 40, he first married Marie-Thérèse Debodenance in Bruxelles Belgium. Born on 9 Oct 1928 in Renias Belgium. Marie-Thérèse died in Melve France, on 19 Apr 1990; she was 61.
